God smiles as Jim Carrey

In Hollywood, there are many who hold the Jim Carrey for God. But in his new film, he is real. Elisabeth Sereda met the star of Bruce Almighty to speak about the opportunities that we have, when you suddenly Lord of Creation.
SKIP: what would you do if you really could have for a week, the omnipotence of God?
Jim Carrey: First of all, I’d send my ex-wife lawyers to hell! People with hairy moles are immediately transported there. Goodbye! See you later! Hopefully it is not too hot for you!! Also, I would give everyone a heads made of rubber, so you can embark on one another, without the right is always so much going to break. I would fill the rivers with fruit juice, eat lightning and thunder, spit. That would be fun. But apart from these little things I have not the slightest idea how I could change the world.
SKIP: Hollywood would you be so as it is?
Jim Carrey: Of course. Where ordinary people are transformed into idols, showered with money and absolutely adored. That’s a perfect system – especially, of course, if you even belong to this group.
SKIP: And you yourself would you change anything?
Jim Carrey: Every man would change the same in themselves to make something longer and bigger, but if I just explain that now, you would not print it anyway. So I say: I would bring my Ueberbein disappear. Then I would change myself for a day in Gandhi, to see how it feels one who is really totally nonviolent. I can not imagine at all that is.
SKIP: Good deeds come to you no mind?
Jim Carrey: But, clearly, of course! First, I’d feed the poor and heal the sick … and then I would make myself invisible, and depend on the girls’ wardrobe!
SKIP: Do you speak often with God?
Jim Carrey: Every day. Although I have no idea how he or she or it looks like, how it feels, what form it takes. I do not know if I’m talking to a being, or whether I speak pure energy, but I am talking about. There is a higher power than us humans, I am convinced that if you call the God or otherwise is not important. I believe that life is a series of plus and minus, and if you get too many compromises, then you love yourself no more and no other. So I try to live my life so that my account always remains positive.
SKIP: Almighty In Bruce is about selfishness, a property known Hollywood stars who spend their lives trying to shore up their ego, yes may place too. Are you sometimes selfish?
Jim Carrey: And how! Otherwise I would hardly spend hours talking with journalists about my life. But once I was even worse. Before my daughter Jane was born, then I was 25 years old, I really thought that the whole world should turn only to me. But if you get a child, one realizes that it now also has to live for someone else. I think that is adulthood. Sometime during this phase you also understand that it is actually quite boring, just continually talk in interviews about yourself. At some point, but you have to think that you did everything you said already, and anyway only stupid repeat. To avoid this, I have Almighty by Bruce-director Tom Shadyac and started one of my friends, a neurologist, a very interesting experiment. We drove up to Alaska in search of grizzly bears. We did not want to hunt them and kill them, we would just steal after hiding behind a tree and watch them.
SKIP: That is the point at which you begin to pray …
Jim Carrey: Yes, absolutely! There have been a few hairy situations … But the point is that we spent the time with an interesting game: Tom Shadyac was not allowed to direct and tell us constantly, what we do or should not do. I could not talk about me and I start every sentence with. And the neurologist could not have an answer for everything. We were crippled by so that we the next day at breakfast with drooping faces sat and thought: “Wow, that was really a silent weekend!” This may sound crazy, but I still have it brought something. This weekend in the woods, I’ve learned to listen. For life is much more interesting, if you’re the person with whom you speak, actually listening!
SKIP: That is indeed a great therapy for egomaniacal Hollywood stars!
Jim Carrey: Yeah, and also for acting is an important lesson! If I had a drama school, I would send all students in the forest.
SKIP: Do you feel your job as a profession or vocation?
Jim Carrey: I think it is the greatest sin and the greatest temptation when an actor asked for his job respect. To hell with respect! I do not give a damn whether Hollywood respected me, respected me or my audience. I respect myself! My daughter respects me! My family respects me! That it is the only thing that matters. If I know who I am, what else do I need? It is a great risk if we overlook his talents, only to effect compliance, what other people think of respectability. So the answer to your question: I definitely feel my job as a vocation. I love to make people laugh. Nevertheless, I will commit myself as an actor can not just comedies. I cry at least as often and as good as I laugh. While the public sometimes looks different.
