Madonna gives Banda the cold shoulder

Did Madonna plan anything when she adopted David Banda from Malawai?

First she whisked Banda out of Africa in a rushed and possibly illegal spontaneous gesture.

And now it seems she never had any intention of sharing information about the baby’s well-being with his father.  The impoverished farmer, who gave his son up for adoption, says, "I don’t have her phone and mailing addresses. All I want is to find out how my son is but I don’t know how I can do it."

Yohane Banda also told local Malawi newspaper The Daily Times that he can’t wait to hear about his son’s new life: "I want to talk to her (Madonna) now and find out about my child."

Wonder how long Madonna’s going to keep him waiting?

Madonna wants to adopt another African baby

Madonna’s blabby father-in-law is talking about his son’s marriage in the press again… and it’s not good news!

madonna marriage trouble

It seems that their public fight the other night was a sign of serious trouble: Madonna wants to adopt another Malawi baby! She didn’t "get" the criticism the first time?

John Ritchie, father of film producer Guy, told Grazia Magazine, "They’ve had a difficult time, (David) is beautiful and Guy is very good with him. But I don’t think he’d want to (adopt again). They were both under an unbelievable amount of pressure because of all the press surrounding (David’s) adoption. It has caused tension and been deeply upsetting,"

Friends close to the couple have said Ritchie would only consider adopting another child once David had fully settled into their lives, but Madonna apparently does not share his cautious attitude.

A friend says, "Madonna wants to get things moving. If she makes up her mind about something wild horses can’t stop her. But Guy wants them to get used to what they already have. It’s a big issue between them."

Get things moving? Does Madonna have a shopping addiction?

Madonna offends Malawi tradition… again

madonna david banda offends malawi tradition

Madonna’s adoption of an African boy has erupted in controversy yet again.

Madge reportedly wants to get David Banda circumcised, which is both the tradition of the Kabbalah faith she follows and an American custom. But David’s Malawian birth father is strongly against it.

“This goes against the Christian religion and is not something we would ever consider in Africa,” Yohanne Banda said, according to the London Sun.

“We don’t ever get circumcised here. I would urge her to think again.”

Did Madonna think about any of the details of this adoption before she rushed into it?

Bono enters Madonna adoption debate

U2 rocker Bono has entered the debate raging over Madonna’s adoption of a Malawi boy, and the Material Girl is not going to like his opinion.

He has made an offer to help the natural father of the 14-month-old boy so that he can keep his child.

Bono is reported to have said that he would like to offer Yohane Banda a job and that he believes Yohane would work well at Edun, his wife Ali Hewson’s ethical clothing label.

In comments reported by the Sun newspaper, Bono said: "We’re trying to get jobs to Africa - then people will be able to keep their children."

His comments are the latest in the debate about whether Madonna’s adoption of David Banda is ethical and if it would be better to invest money in the countries that many adopted children come from in order to allow them to stay there.

A full judicial review of the interim adoption order granted to Madonna and her husband Guy Ritchie is to take place following an appeal by the Malawi Human Rights Consultative Committee (MHRCC), an alliance of 67 activist groups.
